Summary
For the teaching of design, the didactical use of multimedia content and digital resources can produce a high added value: teaching can be based on widespread visual experience and learners are offered more possibilities to explore materials and to work self-dependently on the learning subject. The partners in the project D-net develop and test an online learning environment, which introduces theoretical, historical and methodological aspects of the subject. The online materials support face-to-face instruction and self-study as a part of bachelor studies in graphic and industrial design. Digital content and learning activities will allow students to acquire knowledge as well as application and methodological competences.
The project is based on the components online lessons (teaching materials, self-tests and learning activities), online multimedia pool (photographs, newspaper- or TV-clips), online guidelines (basic knowledge in the areas of “information research”, “scientific work process” and “copyright of digital media”), online information (links to websites, bibliography, portraits, glossary) and /online communication tools.
