PRESS: 1) Evaluation

«The students valued the opportunity of taking responsibility for their own learning process, the many exercises, and an insight into a new, varied subject. This should not, however, be at the expense of contact between students and lecturers.

We asked students to test the course at an early stage. These tests enabled us, for example, to improve the course instructions and the course structure so that these are now clear and self-explanatory. The students particularly valued the opportunity of gaining an insight into a new subject they were unfamiliar with, the varied learning using multimedia, the many exercises and our focus on self-learning.
However, this should not be at the expense of networking between students and contact with the lecturers. We therefore offer a parallel blended-learning seminar which enables more in-depth study of the subjects dealt with in PRESS. However, the course now first has to prove its worth in the 2006/2007 winter semester. Then, further evaluations will follow.»
