GLOPP - Globalisation and Livelihood Options of People living in Poverty

Our aims are to…

•   elaborate/discuss theories and methods
•   provide opportunities to network

Our target groups are...
•   students of geography, sociology, urban and development studies
•   professionals in poverty related fields

Our methodology ...
•   is blended learning
•   follows Gagné’s “nine steps of instruction”
•   complements theory/readings with exercises/self-tests
•   introduces to data collection and analysis

Type de produit: Scénario pédagogique/de cours
Discipline: Sciences sociales
Thèmes: Poverty, Livelihoods, Development, Social Change, Globalisation, Sustainability, Migration, Vulnerability
Avantages: Students get a deeper understanding of development and globalisation processes, the reasons for poverty and possibilities to alleviate poverty. Lecturers spend more time for discussions instead of introducing basics. Courses are more focused and students can choose their own pace of learning.
They are better activated through practical tasks, which also improve their technical and collaborative skills.
Case studies bring students closer to actual research questions, methodologies and settings.
