Competence Centres
Competence Centres will be in charge of producing and maintaining SVC projects. Their funding will be discussed directly with the institutions concerned. No formal application is needed (except for UAS), but the regular annual reporting will make sure that the criteria for competence centres are met. The SVC Local Coordinator (SVC LC) of each university will be the contact person for the SVC Steering Committee (SVC SC) and the coordination.

Selection Procedures

The SVC SC has defined the quality criteria for the selection of the projects and launches the calls for proposal.

  • It evaluates the sketches and afterwards the detailed proposals of the university projects, and proposes their financing. The SUC will finally decide on university projects.
  • It evaluates the sketches and detailed proposals of UAS projects for the attention of the OPET. UAS projects will be selected by the OPET.
  • ETH projects may participate, but the ETH part will be financed completely by ETH Zurich or EPF Lausanne, without additional federal funding (except for overall coordination needs).

The selection procedure may include a discussion with the authorities of the institutions concerned (members of rectorates, institutions, deans) before the final decision of the SVC SC.

As a general rule, applications should be in English, the language used in the SVC SC.
